God gives you just enough time to do His will. If you always feel behind, you're trying to do more than he intended.
This is a quote that was sent to me by my friend Trista. Someone posted it on her facebook page and she thought it might be relevant in my life. Thanks friend...I just love you.
In the past few weeks, I've been searching for things to make my life feel significant. I am not sure where the discontentment came from. I can't quite put my finger on the exact moment that I decided..."this is just not enough". But, I have come to a new realization and I wanted to share it with you. I think I've talked about this a time or two and now that I am experiencing it, I thought I would share.
Have you ever played the telephone game? Where one person whispers something and then they whisper it to the next person and on and on...until the saying finally gets to the end and it is nothing like where it began? Sometimes I feel like that is me deciphering God's messages. By the time I get done trying to decode what everyone is telling me, the message from God is a jumbled mess. I have found here lately that I need a direct line to God...and I found that through prayer. I have been listening intently to the direction he wants me to go...and to be honest, I was already headed that way. I was looking too far ahead and at too many turns and forks in the road. God says to us...Don't get ahead of me...I've got this. And sometimes I just run ahead with my plan. I try to make something out of nothing. I try to read the 'signs' but I blow past them trying to get to the end of my journey. And it is just that...a journey. It isn't a destination that I am trying to get to right now. God has already promised me the destination...it is the journey I must travel to learn all that I need to know for when I get there. AND...God has me put in other people's journey. He has little ol' me helping others down their paths. Not guiding them. No way...(no scars)...but helping shed light on their path so that they may see their steps more clearly.
So, God is in control. As I said yesterday, I am laying 'Me' down and giving Him complete control. No more confusion. No more stress over what is to come. Just be the best 'Me' I can be doing the best work He can find for me. I will be the best Mom, Wife, Sister, Daughter and Friend I can be. I don't need a label. I don't need a job. I don't need a makeover...well...that one is totally stretching it, but for the purpose of being what God wants me to be...I am good. I just need to be Me...and at the same time be His. That I can totally do.
Have a Happy Monday Friends!
Amy

You are exactly right sister! Just be the best "you" you can be! You will find your happiness there for sure! I love ya!
Amen Sister! I think we all (especially us "Type A" people!) get caught up in trying to figure it out and force our own plans onto God... forgetting that He has it all figured out for us... all we have to do is submit to His plan, His will!
Thank you for your reassuring comment today... you got it exactly right. I feel overwhelmed and then guilty for feeling that way, knowing that there are so many people who have REAL sufferings! I appreciate your words though... it's always nice to know that other people have experienced those same thoughts :) On a bright note... Molly had a great night last night (maybe the chiropracter "baby whisperer" I'm taking her to is actually going to help)! Thanks again, friend!
Amy, As Sherry's birthday approaches, I think about her and the fact that she was just being "Sherry" all the time! She always had a smile on her face, a giggle in her voice and loved and lived life! God made her so special and I was so blessed to have had her in my life for as long as I did! She was doing just what you said - Just being me - being just what God wanted her to be. Ahhh, I can see her now, smiling at God and God smiling back at her - you did well, my child! You were so good at being you! Thanks for the reminder that all we have to be is the best "me" we can be, because "he knows the plans he has for us"! Wow - what a lesson - love you - mom
