The Lord has blessed us with so much...yet sometimes, we get wrapped up in what we don't have. When I get like this, it seems as if God knows and always puts something in my path to show me how blessed we truly are.
So I thought I would share a few ways that we like to help.
- The Kyrie Foundation~I am very passionate about this cause. The Kyrie Foundation was created when Kyrie Dawn Thome lost her battle to Pediatric Brain Cancer in April of 2007. She was diagnosed with a rare form of Pediatric Brain Cancer in February and passed away just 9 short weeks later. When diagnosed, Kyrie's family was given one page of information on the cancer she had. That was all they knew at the time. Since then, the Kyrie Foundation has raised over $80,000 and has presented a $50,000 grant to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation to start funding the Tissue Bank to be used for research. Prior to now, there has been nothing of the sort. Please join me in donating, attending our fundraising opportunities and volunteering. - Mulvane United Methodist Church is our church home. Each month the church has a mission that we can take part it. They post it in our weekly bulletin and on our church website. - My friend Melissa Busby is currently in Uganda finishing up the adopting process for their daughter Mercy. She is a wonderful woman who is married to the Pastor for the Mulvane Baptist Church. The Busby's have two daughters here at home and have had more of a time with this adoption than any of us could have imagined.
