What a Weekend!

Okay...first of all...I would like to apologize for the absence of blogging.  It was Old Settlers Weekend here in Mulvane, Kansas and I was soaking up all of the carnival food and time with people I could.  It seemed like it was 900 degrees outside all weekend long...which made for a short night Friday night followed by very LONG day on Saturday.  It was so much fun though.  From the turtle races to the carnival rides...and the super tacos...nothing disappointed.  And as quickly as it came...it disappeared.  We had a community church service in the park this evening and all that was left of Old Settlers were the signs on the bandstand.  Pastor Rick gave an awesome message to the community about unity and how we need to come together as ONE church to serve the unchurched of our community.  Loved it...Good Job PR.

So...here we are.  On the heels of football season...school has started and will be in full swing...and things are as they should be.  A new chapter in our lives is upon us and I am doing my best to embrace the changes without moving room after room of furniture.  Time just keeps rollin' by.  And we have to roll with it or we'll get left in the dust.  I have no choice but to take each day one at a time.  Step by step.  As we get busy and overwhelmed, I am trying to remember who is in complete control here.  And I am so blessed to be able to say that He is.  He is in control.

Okay all...I am off to bed.  Again, I am sorry for being gone this weekend and I would like to ask all of you to pray for my friends Cody and Melissa Busby.  Melissa has a blog that is on my Favorite Blogs list to the right of this page about the adoption adventure they have been on trying to adopt their little Mercy.  To read her story, please click Here.  Melissa will be leaving for Uganda on Tuesday to finalize the process of adopting and bringing Mercy Home.  Keep them in your thoughts and prayers this week as they begin the end of this precious addition to their family.  Good Luck Busby Family!!!

Have a Blessed Night!
