Requesting Prayers for Katie

Cancer sucks.  I am telling you...I've got nothing nice to say about it.

I am asking for prayers for a sister in law of a dear friend of my sisters.  Katie Florio was diagnosed a little over a year ago with Melanoma.  Since then, she has been through several rounds of treatments.  She received one clean scan back in April or May of this year...and since then, the cancer has spread.  It has spread so much that I can't even begin to tell you all of the places it has taken over her body.  This morning, I received a phone call from my sister that the cancer had taken over Katie's brain and spine.  She is a young Mother.  She has a two year old daughter.  She has a husband and two step sons.  And she is dying.

Cancer sucks.  It sucks so bad.  But God is big.  God is so much Bigger than the ailments that threaten our earthly lives.  Katie is very sick.  She  needs a miracle.  She needs healing.  And I know that I know that I know...that God will heal her.  It may not be in the way that we see fit.  It may not be in the way that we are requesting...but I know God is bigger.

God...Be Big Today.  God...be with Katie...and her daughter...and her step-sons...and her husband...and her family...and those of us who have been on our knees praying for a miracle.  God...Be Big.  Heal Katie in whatever way you already have planned. Amen
Please be in prayer for Katie and Michael Florio and for anyone who knows and loves them.

I hate cancer, too. The same thing happened to our cousin Brian, a young dad to little Tye and stepdad to two beautiful daughters.

I cannot fathom why. Why must good people face this beast over and over again? For all of them and for Katie, I will send vehement prayers for healing.

Through faith we find a way to deal with the "wilderness times" in our lives. I am praying for strength for Mike and family to deal with the loss of their precious Katie and for Katie to at last be at peace and no longer suffering from this disease. I pray also that we continue to fight and help find cures for the cancers that bring devastation to families. We are the hope - we are to do his work and yes - at times, it is painful for all of us to endure! Thank goodness for our faith that brings hope and eternal life. love you - mom

I hate, hate, hate cancer too. And this story is so devastating! The same thing happened to my cousin's wife about a year ago. Melanoma. She had a 3 year old son. She only lived a little over a year from the time she was diagnosed. It was devastating. And so is this. I will keep them in my prayers... they will surely need them. Sometimes I wish God would just end it all and come again in all His glory!
