My Savior Lives

I am not skilled to understand
What God has willed what God has planned
I only know at his right hand
Stands one who is my Savior

That He would leave his place on high
And come for sinful men to die
You thought it strange so once did I
Before I knew my Savior

My Savior Loves, My Savior Lives, My Savior's Always there for me
My God He was, My God He is, My God He's Always gonna be
My Savior Loves, My Savior Lives, My Savior's Always there for me
My God He was, My God He is, My God He's Always gonna be...My Savior Lives

One of my all time favorite songs.  I used to love this song for the lyrics.  Now I love it because when it comes on in the van...the boys sing with me.  Big, Middle and Little.  I just drive with tears in my eyes as I hear their little voices singing these words of praise.  They don't sing very often.  Hardly ever.  But for some reason...when this song comes on...they just do.  To hear my 11, 8 and almost 4 year old say those words...

"My God He was, My God He is, My God He's Always gonna be"

Chills.

But for me...the song goes a bit deeper than the words.  With the events that took place yesterday that I posted about...my heart was heavy.  My mood was somber all evening long.  And then I heard this song.  And I knew God was speaking to me.  Because I thought to myself more times than once yesterday...

God...I don't understand.

And he answered with this.

I am the same God today, that I have always been.

And He is right...as always.

I am not skilled to understand.  I don't get to approve His plans.  I don't get to know...or to understand...or to even question what in the world He is doing.  All I know is that God is the same God he has always been.  And even in the moments when I don't understand...I know He is God and God is Love.

So for now...I'll fall back on the voices of my boys singing the words that are so true...My Savior Loves...My Savior Lives...My Savior's Always there for me.

Have a Blessed Day!
