People Need the Lord

When I was in Middle School, our church youth group teamed up with the youth groups from a few other churches to put on a Christian based musical called People Need the Lord.

I don't remember much about it other than the theme song...

People Need the Lord
People Need the Lord
When will they realize
When will they realize
That People Need the Lord

In an attempt to semi organize our storage room of chaos, I came across my tub of memories.  The Tshirt that we wore in doing this musical was in there and the memories came flooding back.  We rehearsed a lot...or so it seemed.  But we were so proud to put the musical on.  We went to several churches in town and performed our numbers.  Hoping to be noticed.  Hoping to be praised.  Hoping to be told how good we were for all of our efforts.  And of course in my mind...I remember us doing well.  Never forgetting a line or getting off key.  We probably could have taken our act on the road...or maybe not.

For whatever reason, God put that on my heart today and I just could not get that song out of my head.

I think God was trying to tell me something.

People Need the Lord.

In a world where we are all fighting to stay on task...on time...and in control...we still need him.

This week alone, we have football practices, school conferences (including Coach as a teacher doing his own conferences) a football scrimmage, bunko, a newly scheduled additional football game for Big, the HS game on Friday and more Junior League football games on Saturday.  Oh and we must not forget Little's Birthday party on Sunday.  But don't you worry...I have it all written on my dry erase board and am planning on making everything  ON TIME...ON TASK...and plan to stay in complete control.

Bahahahahaha....

That was me laughing at the mere thought that I would be able to 1.) get somewhere on time...and 2.) be in control of anything that happens in my life.

People Need the Lord.

I Need the Lord.

In my weakest moments this week...I am still strong because I can admit that I need Him.  I need to Him to calm the waters.  I need Him to extend His hand when I feel as though I am drowning.  I need Him.  I need the Lord.

And so do others.  It is my job as a Christian to extend the hand for Him...so that others can be rescued by Him as well.  I was talking to my friend this morning and guess what...!  Her week was busier than mine!  She has a husband who is out of town on business all week...and her week was just as bad as mine.  All I could think was...what could I do to help?  People need the Lord.

Yet...some live without it.  Some live without Him.

How do they do it?

I would be a complete mess if it weren't for Him...for His love that I see through others.

Yes...People Need the Lord.

God, I need you...and so do so many others.  May the complications of my week rest in your hands.  May the things that stress me and worry me...fall at your feet.  Help me to share your love so that others who are in need...find the answer in You.  Amen

Have a Good Night All!

I often think back to us doing that musical. It was a lot of fun. I'm sure we could have all won awards...

I still find myself singing, "Trust the Lord, with all your heart. And lean not on your own understanding. In all your way, acknowledge him, and He will make straight your path."

Funny how that time meant a lot to both of us but we both remember different songs. I don't know what ever happened to my shirt, but luckily I still hold those memories close to my heart.
