I am so fortunate.
I am in a situation right now with changes in my life that could swallow me whole.
I am staying up late and getting up early every day. (who doesn't?)
I am hauling books, computers, children, coffee, and my sanity to work in an adorable bag that says Mrs. Nelson.
I am throwing together dinners and making lunches for the next day in my "spare time". I am attempting to keep my house clean for the birthday that is coming next week for my Middle.
I had a small, yet manageable panic attack the other day thinking about how Middle is more than half way through his fifth grade year. Which means he is very close to leaving the grade school where I have gotten to see him grow in many ways. This also means he'll be entering the wild world of Middle School in less than nine months. One middle schooler has been almost enough to put me over the edge. I can't imagine what two will do to me. Not to mention the simple fact that my baby...is no longer a baby. (He hasn't been for a long time, but I refused to admit it.)
I am attempting to diet because swimsuit season is less than six months away. Now...when I say swimsuit...I mean skirted tankini. I'm not trying to work miracles. I've already decided looking good in a swimsuit is a lost cause. I'd simply like to feel better about myself when I slip into that skirted black beauty. The diet has been taking place since the beginning of the year. It has been going well...until the Girl Scouts decided to sabotage my plan of attack. I went from no cookies to cookies in my pantry. With the recent increase of panic stricken moments....I've found myself staring at the colorful boxes trying to hold back. It's only a matter of time before the cookies and I have a showdown.
I kid about the things that stress me out. (kind of)
What I don't kid around about is the system of support that I have. I currently have my wonderful husband...pushing me through. I have my parents who have been a constant support as I started this journey. I have my sister and my girlfriends. Always there to cheer me on and make me snacks when life gets too challenging. I have friends within my job that encourage me and that I know are praying for my success. I am so blessed.
Just the other day, I asked my friend how she was first thing in the morning. Her response was..."I'm great! How are you?" My response was "I'm exhausted and a little frazzled from my morning." She immediately helped me get through the moment and reminded me of my many blessings. In a time of so much sadness and loss...we are so very blessed.
I was humbled...and thankful...for my system of support.
I can only hope as I go about my daily life, that I am part of someone else's system of support.
Are you?
Have a blessed day!
