Christmas Eve Part 2~Life

I decided that Christmas Eve deserved more than one post. One that is about the meaning of Christmas and the joy that comes from knowing that Christ is Love.

The second should be about our life. Our crazy, non-stop life that will start happening in about one hour.

Today we will be having Christmas with my Family...which I LOVE. I have celebrated 33 Christmas Eve/Days with my Family and it is the same thing every year. I can look back and remember almost all of them with such happiness. We will be having soup in bread bowls...idea courtesy of my Sister...and spending the day together. At 6:00pm, we'll all start getting ready for church and will attend the 7:00pm service to celebrate the birth of Jesus. It has always been a wonderful feeling when we leave the church. Like everyone in that room "gets it".

After that, we'll go home and put the boys to bed. After they are sound asleep, we help Santa get all the gifts ready that he brings in...as there is no way he can do it all himself. We also usually get a visit from Grandpa Mike Elf as Santa always forgets the dang batteries. Thank goodness Grandpa Elf remembers. I usually help more in the eating the cookie part than in the putting toys out part...but don't judge me. It's Christmas. :D

One of my favorite after Christmas commercials is the one where the Mom is bent over in front of the Christmas tree wearing a red robe and her child comes down the stairs only to yell "Santa?". As she stands up and turns around, she knows she may have added a few lbs to the picture this year. So true...so true. Remind me to wear a pink robe this year instead of red...so there won't be any confusion. :D

Anyway, we then celebrate our Christmas together. Coach and I fell in love on Christmas Eve 13 years ago...(sorry for anyone if this makes you feel like gagging) so we open our gifts from each other on Christmas Eve. We then go make our breakfast casseroles for the entire family to eat on Christmas morning. We started this tradition when Big was just a Little...and it has stuck. So at about 8am on Christmas, everyone comes in their pj's or comfy clothes and we eat and enjoy the morning. It is the best family together time...and I LOVE it.

So there you have it...our day in a nutshell. It is long and crazy and I love every second of it.

We hope you enjoy your special day with friends and family and remember...the cookies have to be eaten by someone. :D

Have a Blessed Day!
